and that I could love walls quite so much.

Today I got insulated. The blow-in kind.

 Doesn't it look like the interior of some weird alien spaceship....?

Help has arrived

Joel has been working downstairs for the past couple of days, getting everything prepped so that we can have insulation blown in.

First thing was to cinderblock up the weird doorway that leads to the neighbor's house.

(This is now the second doorway we've found...old garden doors for them before this house was built? Passageways during prohibition?)

Tile gone from bathroom (and thank goodness since we found the first contractors had hardly insulated)

And as a special bonus he cleaned up and organized the yard. I'm thrilled, but ashamed at the same time that I haven't had the impetus to tackle it myself...but there's plenty of plants still to be ripped out when I get my act together.

It's not as if nothing is happening...

although it feels like it.

The floors got put in a few weeks ago, but still need to be sanded and finished.

The hatches leave something to be desired in the way of being cut straight...

And we have a new mascot.
