Today's Small Beginning

Mark came today and put up the corbels for the door overhangs--both front and back...Since the door was set in at a slant by the contractors we're hoping that this will help to curtail the water that floods in every time it rains....

I've been kind of remiss

about the blogging. Partly because I was away for 2 weeks, and partly because not so much has happened.
However I came back from Massachusetts to find that the amazing Todd had built me a very fine oak table...a 9 footer. I think I can get 10 people comfortably-ish at a time.

Sneak Peek

This past weekend we bought a gate and 2 posts in preparation for the work on the front area. We stuck it in place just to see what it'll look like...

It's the little things.

Our friend Mark has been here this week tackling all the little (although probably aggravating) things that I'm just not qualified to do...like installing the shutters.
It's so great to come home at the end of the day and see what's new.
Today's surprises...Mail Slot!

And he hung a chandelier to replace another light that used to be at the very top of the stairs...
And this one's all me...in searching boxes for something entirely different, I found my custard cup sconce shades that I had hidden to protect from contractor mayhem.

Shutters...part two!

Basement bath...so Todd can shower in private.
